Reser’s Fine Foods new 331,357 square foot state of the art facility turns food processing on its head. Carefully designed from the inside out in response to the complexity of the processing process, the building features a structural exoskeleton, a walkable ceiling and isolated production loops. The Hillsboro location co-locates two existing plants in order to maximize distribution, transportation and infrastructure efficiencies, and includes an 80,000 SF distribution center. The project scope included development of an approximately 30 acre site including on-site water quality treatment and a production waste plant to reduce BOD, SS and maintain a neutral pH, a careful site circulation system separating pedestrian, vehicular and truck traffic, on-site fuel station and planning for future truck maintenance apparatus. The new facility – large enough to house the majority of the Eiffel tower, provides 350 new jobs to Hillsboro and was a catalyst for expanded infrastructure including extended public transportation services for employees to the benefit of the neighborhood.
