Daimler High Desert Proving Grounds (HDPG)
“The overall success of this project was greatly influenced by the great collaboration of the entire team (KNCC, CIDA, DEA and DTNA) throughout the project, from concepts and theories to final construction”
Kaz Kawamoto – DTNA HDPG Construction Project Manager
Description
The HDPG campus provides DTNA with state-of-the-art product validation and durability testing for their complete line of commercial vehicles.
The building offers engineers, technicians and drivers the ability to outfit trucks, send them on the road and then evaluate the impacts of intense use in a single shift. The facility allows customers to not only visit the site to review information with DTNA but also to get in the truck and experience real world durability simulations.
The custom-built durability track allows DTNA engineers to simulate a vehicle’s full-service life (1.2 million miles) into an intense durability testing period of approximately six months and just 6,000 actual driven miles.
