CIDA Gives Program
CIDA Gives was created to give our employees an opportunity to give back to the community and for CIDA as a company to support local non-profits and charities through donations, volunteering, in-kind gifting, and other opportunities as they arise. Food banks and pantries, homeless shelters, humane societies and other charities that help those in need are always looking to partner with companies and individuals and the goal of CIDA Gives is to provide the support to those that are helping the less fortunate.
Volunteer Time Off
CIDA strongly believes in giving back to our community. One way of doing this is providing employees Volunteer Time Off which creates community engagement opportunities for our employees that are meaningful, purposeful and helps those in need. Not only does this help others, but it also enriches and inspires the lives of our employees. In addition to employees’ personal community service endeavors, CIDA creates opportunities for staff to band together and work on a project that will help enrich the community. Such instances have been food preparation for pandemic relief, volunteering at Beaverton School District for storm water damage remediation, canned food drives for The Salvation Army, Angel Tree toy drives, Habitat for Humanity builds, and more.
Annual Canned Food Drive
CIDA began our annual canned food drive in 2012 as the country was climbing out of the Great Recession, a time when giving was in high demand and short supply, and the need for such was punctuated by economic ruin, failed mortgages and homeless families. Since then, over the last 11 years, we have collected thousands of pounds of canned and packaged food and donated it to those in need. With each passing year CIDA’s employees, client and industry partners, with CIDA matching contributions, have exceeded the previous year. In 2020 alone, a year of incalculable uncertainty on so many fronts, both the need and the inspiration for giving was sky high and CIDA was able to collect an impressive 7,196 pounds of donated food. To date, we’ve brought our grand total since inception to 24,981 pounds! If you are wondering, that equates to approximately 3 meals a day for a single adult for 22 years, or put another way… 5000 pounds heavier than the estimated living weight of the largest ever found Tyrannosaurus Rex.
