Our Philosophy
CIDA is a woman-owned (WBE #10209) multidisciplinary architecture and engineering design firm located in Portland that was established to provide clients with a value driven alternative to the traditional architectural firm. Our design philosophy is founded in the belief that architecture is best when it is a true expression of the people and institutions it serves; we listen to understand. We create buildings with simple, well-articulated forms that respond appropriately to both function and environment.
CIDA prides itself on our commitment and responsiveness to our clients. Our team environment, in which we promote open and honest communication, allows us to effectively satisfy the visions, needs, and expectations of our clients. We take ownership of our clients’ challenges and strive to provide, practical, efficient, sustainable and economic solutions. CIDA’s design and management philosophy places a strong emphasis on teamwork and client participation. Well-coordinated in-house and out-of-house communication encourages a transparent and efficient process that allows challenges to be resolved quickly and information to be disseminated accurately. A clear understanding of client goals and expectations combined with CIDA’s design experience, technical expertise, and ability to organize and control the process, consistently produces exceptional results.
This engaging and collaborative process leads to well-articulated architecture that responds to the needs of now and with the versatility and foresight to consider a client’s goals for the future.
