Schedules and Budgets

CIDA's experience with industrial, food processing, speculative development has provided us with a unique understanding of budgets and schedule and the impacts they have on the success of the client. We utilize this understanding to manage budget and schedule impacts in all of our projects.

Schedules: Often meeting tight construction timelines is more crucial than the cost of construction. Getting a facility operational quickly will provide the owner with a profit return sooner. We work with the jurisdictions, the owner and the contractor to develop a path that will lead to the most expeditious method in achieving the client's goals. This may mean ordering material out of sequence, deferring elements of the final design, obtaining sequential permits and accepting some risk. Our goal is always to minimize the risk and optimize the schedules for design and construction.

Budgets: Whether it is fast track /design-build project, a formal bid process or a negotiated contract, CIDA's experienced staff makes sure that the client is aware of cost impacts so that informed decisions can be made. Our extensive experience on design build teams has provided us with an excellent base of understanding project costs including: construction pricing; entitlement fees; fixture, furnishings and equipment costs; professional service fees; bank fees as well as other costs that can influence the success of our clients and their projects.
